In November, the Tyler Economic Development Council announced that Amazon had purchased 30 acres in their new North Tyler Commerce Park at CR 334 & SH 155 near I-20.

What Will It Be?

The new 140,000-square-foot facility will not be a traditional distribution center warehouse. Instead, it will serve as a last-mile delivery hub, allowing Amazon to sort and prepare packages for delivery closer to their final destinations.

It will be a hub for Amazon's delivery drivers and vehicles to complete "last-mile" order deliveries to Amazon shoppers in Tyler and much of East Texas.

Next Day Delivery

By establishing a local presence, Amazon can optimize delivery routes and reduce shipping times from Its distribution centers in distant cities, allowing for next-day delivery of many orders.

Jobs & Economic Impact

This project is expected to generate over 100 full-time jobs plus several hundred part-time jobs in the coming years.

Amazon's total investment in this project is expected to be $50 million. The City of Tyler and Smith County did not offer or provide economic incentives to Amazon.

When Will It Be Open?

The project is currently under construction, with completion expected in late 2025.
